I haven’t been as regular with my blog entries as I have intended. It seems like life, work and attempts at training get in the way of typing. Dad is having some minor health issues that could be related to diabetes, but it could just be age related also. When I was talking to Kelly Davis and Lee Atherton from WDRB, I mentioned that diabetes steals time for you to spend with people. It affects your body, but the thing it affects most is the time to spend with your friends and family. Dad was referred to a specialist, and they will decide treatment from there.
Good news for Lara, she has been working on managing her weight since the beginning of the year, and she is really showing the results of all her hard work. I don’t remember how much weight she has lost, but it was a significant amount. I will try to get a before and after picture of her (and her permission to post it).
I have been trying to add a morning workout and evening workout to my regimen, and it has frustrating to say the least. Between weather and sleeping though the alarm I have missed as many as I have made. My plan was to start 2adays to get used to the pattern of the Run this summer, since I wasn’t going to run any more marathons before the start of the Run. I’m not sure how I am going to alter the schedule, but I need to change something.
As I said above, I talked with Kelly Davis about the Run and they did a great story. I laughed at the graphic. Kelly and Lee were really great. Kelly is running starting training in June for the Chicago Marathon. Chicago is one of the destination marathons. It usually has great crowds and fans.
I must confess this is disjointed, because I am watching “Remember the Titans.” It’s one of those movies I have to watch once I start it.
